Just before my holiday, we had a Punterslounge.com meetup in Leeds for 2 days and then onto Newcastle for the 3rd
I managed to come joint 1st in the poker game in leeds on the friday night for £100 each as it was 3.40am and we had been drinking all day lmao! It was best for us to share the win and go all in every hand after to sort a winner out that way, i lost the all in challenge to a new mate Aliando, who is mental i might add! but hilarious and a great bloke.
In the Newcastle poker tournament we had an added incentive to win, a place in the Champion of Champions game on Goal Poker which has a buy in of $660. In this tournament there are 2 World Series of Poker Main Event seats worth $10k and $5k worth of hotel and travel expenses included. Its also limited to 50 seats!!! so thata a 1 in 25 chance of playing in the richest, biggest poker tournament in the world!
Well for a 2nd night in a row, i had been drunk, and played for 7hours in a row after only 3 hrs sleep in 3 days, which is bad enough in its own right, but to have to concentrate and play poker against great players is another thing. Well it all came good for me and i managed to sneek a win when the blinds got so high it was more of an all in fest than proper poker, this landed me another £100 and a place in the champions of champions final at the end of June. Wish me Luck!!!!!
