Virgin Poker Festival Results!
Howdy,
All of us here just wanted to say thank you for coming to the very first Virgin Poker Festival this weekend. We had a fantastic weekend and now have the hangovers to prove it! It was great getting to meet so many of you in person and hopefully you had just as good a time as us.
If you didn’t manage to stay around to the end of the night here are all the details of who won what and you can watch highlights of the weekend on the Poker Week show on SkySports 1 at 11pm this Thursday (29th Nov).
We have lots of pictures of the Festival and these will be on our Facebook group, in the next 24 hours. If you’re not already signed up to the group find out how to see them here - http://www.virgingames.com/poker/loyalty/FriendsOfVirginPoker.aspx

Morlspin’s got 50,000 Flying Club miles as a result of the travesty below.
Morlspin’s pocket 2’s hit a set on the flop, made a full house on the turn and was beaten by runner-runner quad 5’s on the turn.
STT Side Event
Congrats to Ian Evans (emsian8144) for taking the plaudits in Sunday’s STT Champs comp plus £475 and 50’000 Flying Club miles. Well done to all those who won an STT and sorry to all who had a wait for a table – it was our first bash at this and we’ll make sure there’s more on next time!!
PokerPlayer Sunday Side Event
We have a bit of a confession here! Once the main event was over we decided to let our hair down and this ultimately resulted in our drunken unconsciousness before the tourney ended. The Broadway is helping us track down the lucky winner so we can give him (or her) his prize and we apologise for missing his big moment.
Wii Bowling
I’m sure some of you will have sore arms today and the best of the slingers was Emile Foyster with a monster score of 251!
Once again thanks for helping to make it so much fun and we hope to see you at our next Festival in Spring 08 for an even bigger and better time (we’ll send you details just as soon as we have them).
Ollie
p.s. This was our first festival and while we thought it went really well we want to make the next one is even better so please let us know about the things you liked and any suggestions of what could be improved. We can’t promise to be able to do everything but will try our very best.
p.p.s Many of you also asked the guys and I lots of questions about the Virgin Poker room over the weekend. As sobriety wasn’t a state familiar to most of us for the 48 hours I’m sure some things will have slipped under the radar. So if you have got any feedback/issues/questions about anything then please drop them to me in an e-mail. Again we’ll try to get as many resolved as fast as possible.

Apat Season 2 Regional 1
23 Runners, 5hrs 45 to play and would have been longer if we hadnt have made a deal with 4 left
I took Mad Duke out when i made a bet with 88 and he pushed for double my bet, i called and he had K9....i made my trips on the turn and he was gone in around 15thSlick Mick went shortly after as he had no help on the flop and was out around 13/14th (cant remember the hand)
Got to final table fairly easilly after my Q10d shortstack shove was called by KJ and i made my flush on the turn again! 9 left and were all in the ranking points
Got to final 4 after about 2 hours on the final table where we made a deal where we would get £60 each and play on for the 3 seats and the ranking pointsI made a fatal error by checking my queens on the flop only for a king to come on the turn and i doubled Millbet up! Nice one lol
My demise came shortly after when i pushed 16k with 10 10 preflop to win 3200 blinds and my mate Barnes called instantly with QQ, 4th for £60, 6 points but no seat
Once the 3 had guaranteed their seats they loosened up with only points to play for and Barnes was heads up with Millbet, who despite being truley hammered managed to river a 4 card flush and take it down!
Well done Millbet and nice meeting the two of you!
See ya at the next one

Matt and Alex bought me into a super satellite with them for £100, so i just wanted to say thanks very much it was much appreciated and not expected!
Matt went out in 7th when he pushed all in pre-flop for around 2500 i called then a local pro went all in for his last 2800, i again called the extra 300Matt showed J5o for a miss timed bluffI had pocket Jacks , only one left to come Local pro picked up AA Nothing on the flop, nothing on the turn and an Ace on the river knocked Matt out and left me back to starting stack of 4000( had previously doubled with AA and 99 in consecutive hands Dealers changed and so did my luck, blinding away i pushed for my last 3000 with blinds at 600/1200 with 10s 6s, 1 caller, he had 88 He hit his 8 on the turn and it was good night vienna, i finished a credible 4th,
Alex followed shortly after in 3rd when his 89s was called by pocket 2's i think and they held up
Had a great night and met up with some pretty good mates, thanks again lads, see ya Soon

Viva Las Vegas!!!!!!
Well what can i say about Vegas that hasnt already been said a thousand times?
I flew to vegas on Sunday 1st July to play in a side event of the World Series of Poker with Virgin Atlantic (the best direct service for vegas from the UK) arriving at midday to a temperature of around 116f...madness, it was so hot i couldnt breathe for a few moments!
My WSOP experience lasted all of 4 hours which to me is bloody great as i was in the $1000 rebuy event, and i busted out when ahead pre-flop
I had 11k in chips and on the button, when i found myself with KK, 1 limper and i decided that with the rebuys being too expensive id play it aggressively and hope to take the blinds to avoid the inevative ace on the flop, i make my move and announce all in, BB calls, and so does the limper, who has me covered by a mile!
with two of us all in we all turn the cards over:
me: KK
BB: 10 10
limper: 8s9s
i had a big grin knowing i was ahead and no aces to worry about, til i see a flop of 5 6 7 rainbow.....destroying me in 1 foul swoop, no help on the turn and the ace comes on the river, and im out, gutted and tired, but with some great experience anyway.
Met up with Matt Dale of poker.co.uk fame, Jar Jar and Danarama, F-tipper and Michelle, Manbag and his missus, Dave Woods(pokerplayer editor) Hilly the Fish and a few others at the Playboy party at Hugh Heffners Villa at the palms, awesome evening and met a few star players, Mel Judah, Andreas Hoivuld, Simon "Aces" Trumper and partied the night away with the bunnies and the free booze haha!
Then the aftershow at Sapphires gentlemens club...well what can i say....i had my1st lapdance! wow! and then watched as pissed up celebs made fools of themselves over and over again, with Dave Woods brother Nick the star of the show doing breakdancing for us. Wicked time as usual and great seeing you all again!
Poker Utd again
Had a great evening when finishing 2nd to my good mate Dave aka Col U Fc in the sunday freeroll. This is a great little tournament which usually attracts around 40-50 players, with $200 in prizes shared by top 10 its an easy way to build your bankroll.
The banter is awesome with us all knowing each other by now and all just having fun! Thats what its all about isnt it?
Paradise poker(boss) New world fast track
This tournament costs $25+$2.50 to enter and usually attracts around 20 entrants which to me is crazy with an added seat to the grand final where the winner will walk away with $100,000!
Im gutted cos i was ahead in chips when i played this one, even having him all in 3 times when i was ahead only to lose a coin flip each time, c'est la vie!
7pm on a saturday evening, if you have nothing better to do, come along and say hello!
